  Every third habitant of our planet suffers from seborrhea and its consequences.    Why does dandruff occur?

  Overhead layer of epidermis of healthy scalp, so-called corneous epithelium, constantly updates. It is natural physiological process of dead cells flaking-off. Since flakes have microscopic sizes, the process of updating is invisible for an unarmed eye. Process of corneous epithelium update is the following: deep sprout layer of scalp tirelessly gives life to new cells. Ripening they step by step move to the skin surface.Having achieved the overhead layer of epidermis, cells become thin and transparent. After the certain period of time they easily move away from the scalp, giving a way to new generation and turn to ordinary dust, which is invisible for eyes.

   However, as a result of violation of scalp sebaceous glands functioning, the cells of corneous epithelium flake off before completion of their life cycle, i.e. before ripening. They do not have enough time for full dehydration. Therefore, these dead cells remain sticky, stick together, soak with sebum and flake off as yellow-white colored large flakes. We usually call these flakes dandruff (its scientific name is Pittyriasis Simplex Capitis). The disease is called seborrhea. Update process of corneous epithelium cells is broken; as a result, sebaceous glands work without control and scalp oiliness rises, provoking increasing of amount of fungus of Pityrosporum Ovale genus. Most of scientists think that this is exactly microscopic fungus (also known as Malassezia Furfur).There is Pityrosporum Ovale fungus on everybody's scalp (they are necessary for natural flaking of dead cells). They are invisible for eyes and normally absolutely harmless. However, surplus skin oil (sebum) is a wonderful nourishing environment for its excessive reproduction. At the same time the update of corneous epithelium cells on scalp accelerates and cycle takes approximately 7 days in stead of 25-30. Being a lipophilic fungus (living in a fatty environment) yeast-like fungus Pityrosporum Ovale is concentrates around sebaceous glands, penetrates into hair follicles and provokes serious dermatological diseases, such as seborrhea, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia (focal hair loss).

SULSENA paste is a multicomponent emulsion of consistence promoting substances and complex of useful additives, based on active dermatological component - selenium disulfide (SeS2). Chemical structure of selenium disulfide is sulphide, mixture of crystalline selenium monosulfide with element selenium, element sulphur and amorphous solutions of sulphur and selenium in each other.
